As a radio controlled boats beginner, you are probably looking for some recommendations on choosing the right model. To start out you may want to go with an electric radio controlled boat. They tend to be less expensive but come in a wide price range if you want a more expensive model. Electric RC boats also run a little quieter than gas models.
After a while in the hobby, you may want to move on to gas radio controlled boats. They run on a couple of fuel mixtures such as gas, gas/oil and nitro. Gas will be faster than electric and nitro should be faster than gas but is a little more expensive. Gas boats are also louder than electric.
